Work in progress
More guidance on automatically running scripts/programs written in various programming languages coming soon!
Guides
Step-by-step guides are available to implement script/program running with the following programming languages:
- Groovy (for scripts that run on the JVM)
- Python (for programs that run externally)
- Shell scripts (on Linux and other Unix variants)
- Batch files (on Windows)
Reading these guides is recommended even if your actual programming language is not listed here. As the execution mechanism for every language is somewhat similar, these will be definitely helpful!
Tip: if your code is running in the Jira JVM, use the Groovy guide, if your code is running externally, use the Python guide as inspiration.
